Family and friends of one of the original Alpha-1 warriors Josephine McGuirk completed a unique marathon challenge for the month of February. This goal was to raise awareness of Alpha-1 and to fundraise for Alpha-1 Foundation Ireland.
Colin, Johnny & Niamh McGuirk, Jenny & Jeff King, Ian & Sean Wallace and Tony O’Brien did a marathon distance every week by running, walking or even crawling. The marathon challenge took place in short segments across Dublin, Meath and Kildare because of COVID-19 public health measures.
The amazing Alpha-1 Warriors finished their February Marathon Challenge in aid of Alpha-1 on Sunday, February 28th. The Warriors surpassed their original 5k target, raising a staggering €11,800. A huge thank you to the McGuirk family, their friends and everyone who supported the cause. Thank you also to BOC Gases Ireland for their generous donation to the cause through their “Matched Giving” programme.
