The Save Your Breath COPD awareness campaign kicks off this week. The campaign, taking place from November 17 to 23, coincides with World COPD Day on Wednesday November 19, and will see a COPD screening roadshow visit various locations around the country. The screening roadshow will be aimed at individuals over the age of 35 who are experiencing symptoms of persistant coughing, breathlessness, or frequent chest infections.
Research conducted by COPD Support Ireland during a similar roadshow in 2013 found that of the 352 people who attended, one in five (18 per cent) had abnormal results and were referred to their GP.
